Raiju (雷獣 Raijū) are a type of Demon.
Overview
Appearance
The Raiju appear as giant beasts much larger than the average human with a broad red face with four horns rising up away from its face. A large, tiger like body complete with stripes and the front end of a snake acting as its tail.
Powers and Abilities
Lightning Generation: A raiju can apparently call upon lightning from its snake tail, making it imperitive to destroy it first when battling the monster.[1]
Trivia
- Raiju are named for the creature of the same name in Japanese Myth.
- Despite this, the Raiju featured in Blue Exorcist, actually bears much closer resemblance to another mythical beast, the Nue.
