A Greenman (
Powers and Abilities[]
A Greenman has the ability to grow plants of any sort from their body. This can be very useful in offensive techniques as well as defensive ones. Greenmen have demonstrated the ability to create a cocoon of branches in order to protect someone. They can also grow healing and helping plants out of their bodies, which can be useful at a crucial time.
Plants[]
- Aloe (
蘆薈 Aroe): This plant is used to treat burns and masho.[1] - Barberry: This plant is used in combination to chanting to create certain protective charms.
- Chorogi (Chinese Artichoke): Greenmen are able to produce Chorogi. In the Movie, Shiemi Moriyama asks Nee to produce some to seemingly help with the treatment of her and Yukio Okumura's injuries, which were caused when their trolley crashed.[2]
- Dandelion Seed: This plant is used to airlift people to safety.[3]
- Japanese Lantern Plant: Greenmen are able to produce Japanese Lantern Plants, which gathers spirits into its fruit pouches.
- Japanese Rowan: This plant was used as a fire retardant shield.[4]
- Liverworts, hornworts, whisk ferns, common horsetails, adder's tongues: These plants are effective against bacterial Demons, like the Impure King.[5]
- Non-sticky and sticky rice (粳と糯の稲 Uruchi to Mochi no Ine): It is first grown to appease Uke and Mike.[6]
- Silver Vine (木天蓼 Matatabi): A plant whose fruit can be used to brew Silver Vine Sake.[7]
- Tengu hornbeam (
天 狗 垂 Tengushide): The branches of this hardwood tree form a tangled wall.[8]
Trivia[]
- Greenmen take their name from a sculpture that appears in many cultures around the world, depicting a face made of leaves or foliage of some kind.
